RIP, George Carlin

A couple of weeks ago I drove Matt to the Orleans so he could play some O/8. We saw on the marquee that George Carlin was playing there in a few days. "George Carlin!" I said. "I’d love to see him live!"
"We should go see him on our day off," Matt said.
We talked about it, but we didn’t.
And now we never will. It would’ve been his last show. I dearly regret not making the time.
This is a dark, dark day. Especially in the dark days we live in. He was a titan. He was a hero to those who believe in free speech. And he was fucking HILARIOUS.
I have so much of his stuff on iTunes. I’m gonna listen to it now and laugh until I cry.

Oh, man, I am so bummed. That is sad. He was not only funny, his material made you really think about things. Sadness.

Stuff like this gets you right there… When you could’ve done something and then you know you’re never going to be able to do it…makes you see things in an entirely different light…for a while…
