Channelling My Inner Greenstein

The group I’m going to Vietnam with has been doing their good works for years now. They raised money to build a school, opened a medical clinic, helped children who lost limbs to birth defects or land mines, and this year they raised money to build a bridge between two villages that get cut off by a river during the monsoon season. The bridge will be officially dedicated while we’re there.

Obviously I’m late to the game and I figured I’d donate some extra money to their causes. But how much? And then it hit me–I’d follow Barry Greenstein’s lead and donate all the money I make in our blogger tournaments. And since I’ve gotten off to a pretty good start so far (a 2nd, a 3rd, and 5th place in Pauly’s event on Saturday) that already makes for a nice little sum. I just need to mark down on the calendar when all these damned tournaments are. I won’t be able to play tonight  (or…maybe I will, if the bar we go to after volleyball has WiFi) but I’ll be there for the Skills game and the Mookie. And I’ll carve out some extra time to play as much as possible. Just remember, when you’re trapping me with your flopped straight, it’s not my dreams you’re crushing. It’s the kids’. You bastard.

If for some reason you’d like to donate to the group (beyond the entry fees I’ll be seizing with my sick play) you can either do it directly through the group or just zip me an email or let me know in the comments and we can work it out from there. The cause is a good one.
