The Lion In Winter

A few sharp-eyed readers noticed that I changed the "About Me" photo in the upper left corner. Over the months I got a few comments, mostly from my friends, that the picture of me with Ernie the Cat on my shoulders lacked gravitas. Or the reflected light from my computer monitor made me look possessed. Or that a single guy prominently posting a picture of himself with his cat wasn’t exactly macho. I took that criticism to heart and finally figured out how to change the pic. I might post a better shot in the next few days, but I’ve got a killer cold and about the only thing I want to do at the moment is cough up gook into a handkercheif.

Still, I hate to disappoint those readers who actually prefer Ernie to me, so I’ll occasionally post a picture of him. He’s been a total pain in my ass the last few days, because I’m not sleeping well as it is and the bastard’s been getting me up at 5AM and not letting me get back to sleep. I had a dream the other night that I was chasing him through my old house and hosing down the area with an AK-47. Woke up with a smile on my face.

And on cue, he hops up on my desk and lies down across my arms, snuggling in as I type. It’d almost be cute if he wasn’t irritably mewling because I’m not petting him. Anyone wanna cat?

All things aside, I kinda like this picture:

Is it me, or does his expression remind you of Michael Corleone at the end of The Godfather, Part II? It’s me, isn’t it?

You are certainly a single, clean-cut, confidently coiffed man who loves his cat.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Andy agrees that Ernie does look like a tough guy in this picture.
