Quicky Bleg

A question for the photographers out there–I have a copy of Photoshop Elements 5 and it’s been acting up for awhile. I can edit photos, but I can’t use the organizer. I’ve removed and reinstalled it but my computer doesn’t like it for some reason. I want to start doing more post-production work on my photos beyond the bare basics, and I really need to get my scattered photo folders in some kind of order.

Photoshop Elements is now on update 7. Has anyone used it, is it worth upgrading to that? Or, would Lightroom 2 be the better option? Or, should I think about getting both? Or neither? This is yet another of those purchases that has had me chasing my tail for several weeks.

Because Elements 5 isn’t working right on my computer I keep having to go back and forth between Canon’s organizing software and Photoshop editing software and it’s a bit of a pain. Plus I think it slows my computer down quite a bit. Maybe I should just buy a new computer…no. I also need to get better about backing up my keepers to my external drive and DVDs. I think about all the stuff I need to do and want to learn and I start to wonder when I’m gonna get out and actually take some pictures. Maybe this afternoon.

I’ve never used Elements, so I can’t really comment on that. I swear by Lightroom. Would probably never even look at any of my photos if I didn’t have it. The only issue may be speed, if Elements is slowing down your computer. I don’t know how they compare as far as requirements.
