This is a big travel weekend for the pokerblogging world. Pauly is in Amsterdam, soon to fly to London to cover the WSOP-E and meet up with Change100. F-Train just arrived in Seoul and, no doubt, is totally focused on his work and not the millions of Asian women who just happen to live there. And a battalion of bloggers are headed to Philly to join Al for the Bash and what promises to be a scary, scary weekend.
Once again I won’t be making the drive across Pennyslvania to add some class and sophistication to that end of the state. Instead I’m flying south to cover the Aruba Poker Classic for the third time. I know, hard work if you can get it. I guess I’m almost over my fear of flying, as the idea of spending six hours in an aluminum tube five miles in the air didn’t keep me awake last night. But there’s still the surreallness I always experience before a long trip. Today I’m home, drinking coffee at my desk. Tomorrow I’ll be thousands of miles away on a tropical island. It’s easy to take for granted the magic that’s required to get from point A to point B, but when you’re still a little terrified about flying you take nothing for granted.
I’ll post updates here, I’m sure. The odd picture or two. There will be no swimsuit photos. Of me, I mean. You may now thank God.
