I hate to sound condescending but check to see if you accidentally check work offline. otherwise, you might have a regular ip/dns set. so you're using xp then
1. click on view wireless network
2. click change advance settings on left sidebar
3. hi-lite your tcp/ip protocal and click properties
4. check obtain ip and dns automatically

vista is something similar but can't remember exactly.

Gene,

I can't help you with your computer problems, but I'm still convinced that the refs handed the Super Bowl to the Steelers a few years back. And yes, I'm still pissed about it. I meant to tell this to your face in Vegas this summer, but I never saw you face. Maybe in December. And maybe we'll have beers together and discuss it. =0

Gene.

I know the exactlu problem you're having--if you run Vista. I experienced it for a year before figuring it out. You have to change a couple of values in your registry and it solves the problem. If you run Vista, shoot me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help.

Are you running XP or Vista? I know Vista shipped with some newer TCP/IP wireless protocols and you might want to downgrade the TCP/IP stack to an older version. Let me know if you are running Vista and I will find the article about the wireless settings.

Could be a hardware problem on your internal wifi. Try borrowing/buying a usb-based external wifi adapter and see if that works properly. If that operates just as poorly then it's not a hardware-based issue.
